Hey! My name is Valery Tessa, welcome to the mess. I guess I’ll start by saying that I really don’t know what I want out of this blog other than a place to share the happenings of my life, both exciting and mundane. I recently graduated college with a Bachelors of Science in Health Promotion, so it goes without saying that I strive to live a healthy and balanced life as best I can. To clarify, I am not a *health nut* per say, but I try to be mindful of what my mind and body need to function properly so I can actually enjoy life. That can look like eating a huge salad, or eating a huge cookie. Hitting the gym hard, or hitting my couch hard to catch up on my favorite shows. Everyday is different, every person is different, and as such, everyones needs and definition of health are different. I personally believe that this definition is ever changing, at least for me, and so begins the quest for balance.
I kind of ironically named this “Everyday Adventure” because I feel like my life is pretty simple and not all that exciting. With that said, I like the beauty in simplicity, making everyday at least a little bit of an adventure. Sometimes that adventure might be as small as building a puzzle while watching Parks and Recreation for the hundredth time (Leslie Knope is my greatest role model), trying out a new recipe, or going to my local coffee shop for an almond milk latte (with a little hazelnut syrup because life is too short for boring coffee). For the most part, the small adventures are my favorite, but every once in a while (a long while, lets be honest) I do things like take a week long road trip with my best friend or spending a month in California visiting family, but those kinds of adventures are few and far between, and I kinda like it that way. But again, that’s all part of the balance that I am constantly trying to maintain.
Anyway, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to join me for my favorite recipes and aesthetically pleasing food pics, periodic rants about whatever might be on my mind at any given time, and maybe some inspiration to live a happier and healthier life. My ultimate goal is to make YOUR everyday an adventure as well 🙂 .
P.S. Be the Leslie Knope of everything you do. Because she’s awesome and has the best quote about balance (see below). That is all.
We have to remember what’s important in life: friends, waffles, and work. Or waffles, friends, work. But work has to come third. ~Leslie Knope
